The 42CT – AC & BLDC Motor Fan Coil Unit is a high-efficiency, ultra-low noise HVAC solution offering airflow from 340 to 2380 m³/h. Designed with advanced heat exchange technology and innovative noise reduction features, it delivers superior performance and energy savings. With options for AC or BLDC motors, silencers, integrated plenum boxes, and customizable accessories, the 42CT provides unmatched flexibility and comfort for modern air conditioning needs.
The unit features a double-flanging structure with wide seam blue hydrophilic aluminum fins. It uses an advanced mechanical tube-expanding process to ensure excellent contact between copper tubes and aluminum fins. The wide fin and impeller design provides uniform airflow, creating optimal conditions for efficient heat exchange. This ensures that the cooling capacity per input power of the 42CT model outperforms other similar products.
The 42CT is equipped with a newly designed wide, large-diameter, low-speed, multi-blade impeller. Its fan casing is reinforced with structural ribs for added strength. The unit uses NSK bearings to minimize vibration and noise during operation. Additionally, an optional Carrier-patented silencer can be installed to reduce noise by approximately 3 dB(A) without affecting airflow or static pressure.
The FCU features a newly designed V-type drain pan made using an integral molding process. The drain outlet is placed at the lowest point of the unit, allowing for smooth condensate drainage. This V-type design also increases the pan’s structural strength, helping it resist deformation during transport.
An optional BLDC motor is available, enclosed in a sealed casing for improved protection and durability. Compared to traditional motors, the BLDC motor provides higher efficiency, quieter operation, and better energy savings.
The unit can be equipped with a factory-installed integrated air plenum box, ensuring consistent quality and appearance while reducing on-site labor. The plenum box can also be paired with filter options to enhance indoor air quality.
Carrier’s patented silencer absorbs noise created by air outlet dynamic pressure. It includes a built-in wing-shaped sound-absorbing sponge column and is designed with the help of CFD simulation tools. This silencer reduces the sound level by up to 3 dB(A) without affecting air volume or external static pressure. It can be easily installed at the FCU outlet.
Available configurations include 2-pipe systems with 3-row or 4-row coils. The unit can be fitted with motorized 2-way or 3-way valves, and offers drain pan options such as powder-coated cold-rolled steel or stainless steel in standard or extended lengths. Bottom or rear plenum box options are available with or without filters. Filter choices include nylon (10mm), aluminum (10mm or 25mm), and thermostats are available for both AC and BLDC motor models.
